Jason Marc-Williams

Jason Marc-Williams is a queer, neurodiverse, and working-class theatre practitioner, director, and performer with a career spanning over 15 years across professional theatre, actor training, and academic leadership. As Head of Acting and Voice at Laine Theatre Arts, he oversees curriculum development, staffing, and pastoral support, curating a training environment that is inclusive, rigorous, and responsive to the needs of today’s industry. His work champions diversity in voice, text, and performance practice, combining traditional actor training with contemporary methods rooted in lived experience.

Jason’s directing career is marked by a wide range of professional and educational credits. In the commercial sector, he has directed Aladdin (Beck Theatre), Peter Pan and Beauty and the Beast (Venue Cymru) for Imagine Theatre, and a series of plays for Paul Taylor-Mills at The Manor Pavilion Sidmouth including Party Piece, Looking Good Dead, Not Dead Enough, and Emma. His musical theatre direction includes Marry Me a Little and Hopeless Romantics (Courtyard Productions), as well as The Wedding Singer, Spring Awakening, and Made in Dagenham at Emil Dale Academy, where he previously served as Head of Acting.

He is also a core member of the creative teams  at West Glamorgan Youth Theatre Company (wgytc), where he has directed acclaimed productions including Company, Blood Wedding, Blue Stockings, and Jane Eyre. His work with young and emerging artists continues to be driven by a passion for accessibility, regional storytelling, and nurturing new voices.

As a performer, Jason has appeared in a variety of roles across genres and scales. His recent credits include Abanaza in Aladdin (Beck Theatre, 2024–25), Captain Hook in Peter Pan, Nana Nina in Beauty and the Beast, and the Ugly Sister in Cinderella for Imagine Theatre. Other highlights include Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Toby Belch in Twelfth Night, and Lt. Malvany in While the Sun Shines (Charles Vance Rep. Co.). He has also toured nationally with Trespass (Talking Scarlet) and Roots and Wings (Grassroot Productions).

Jason trained at the Guildford School of Acting (BA Hons Acting) and is a widely respected acting coach, having delivered workshops, residencies, and training programmes across the UK and internationally – including South Africa and Switzerland. He is a vocal advocate for neurodivergent artists and invariably leads workshops on embracing neurodiversity in performance training.
